Macros of which the scenery density was changeable were all set to "DENSE"
In all scenery files the following rules apply:
"VERY SPARSE" adds most structures
"SPARSE" adds country polygons, roads, rivers, hills, etc. and starts adding city polygons such as lakes, rivers and some trees.
"NORMAL" finishes adding all city polygons such as parks, parking squares, etc. In short it will show you all but most macros.
"DENSE" scenery setting will start adding more macros and more trees.
"VERY DENSE" adds all trees, fences, bridge lights, road viaducts, etc. In short it will show you all.
All roads, ramps and masking polygons around scenery such as bridges and railway stations are set to be visible at "SPARSE" so things will always look "dressed up".
All static scenery macros at Deelen AB and Terlet follow the same rule, only "VERY DENSE" will show all.
General considerations for improving frame rates:
- When flying over Holland turn default FS2002 Northwestern Europe in the “Scenery Library” off, as NL2000 covers it pixel by pixel!
- Set visibility under “Weather” to 10-20 miles, which is a good day in humid Holland!
- Set the “target frame” rate to max 24, when you go to the movies that’s what you look at!
- Before you start decreasing scenery densities or texture qualities, turn off ground scenery and aircraft shadows and other special effects! To avoid shimmering effects you ware sun glasses in reality, why try to blind yourself sitting in front of the PC!
- When you want to do some "sight seeing" over Arnhem try to avoid having EHDL AB in your sight of vision.
Note: my system specs are: Pentium III at 933MHz, 512MB RAM, 64 MB DDR NVidia GeForce2 GTS, all sliders in FS2002 at max -> FPS min 10.
The best way to fly the scenery you should start from Deelen AB (EHDL) in the Netherlands and make your heading South. You'll be right on top of it.
Required are the following files: ASD 2.1, VOD 3.0, NOVA (txt1) and Trees (version 3) textures (these should be placed in your "\FS2002\texture" directory) and of course the NL2000 V2.1 scenery.
Place Arnhem2000 scenery above NL2000 in MSFS scenery library.
Only "VERY DENSE" scenery setting will show you all.
Be sure that the following files are in your "\FS2002\Scenery" directory: trees_0.bgl, timezone.bgl, seasons.bgl, regions.bgl, shipmacrolib.bgl and NovaLib1.bgl.
